Who We Are

You Matter Foundation Africa started with a simple idea:

I encountered a group of homeless people sleeping on the street down the side of the road from my student accommodation and decided on that Sunday to go to the store to buy a few loaves of bread, polony and juice to give to them. It was upon my arrival when I realised the homeless people included women with small children that I saw how that kind gesture not only brought relief in that moment but restored dignity. This moment birthed You Matter Foundation Africa.

Homelessness and factors tied to it such as lack of nutritious food, basic living essentials and unemployment are solvable with a strategic plan and focus. Our foundation is committed to bringing any form of relief, whether that is through providing nutritious meals, warm clothes, blankets and school shoes to learners, we are there. Proper housing is not a privilege but a basic human right. We need to act in ways, big or small, to show our commitment to addressing these issues and ensuring we create a safe and healthy environment for the disadvantaged to live a life of purpose and sustainability. This allows people to feel seen, heard and know that THEY MATTER.

Manifesto:

We offer our time to those who are misunderstood

We extend our hearts to people suffering, as everyone should

We serve the people unconditionally

YMFA aims to uplift communities passionately
